BGES Battlefield Survey Instructions
Step 1:
Insert your name and address at the top of Survey page 1.
Step 2:
Insert the Battlefield name, address, and BGES Survey Battlefield Number
(to be provided by BGES office) in Survey page 1.
Step 3:
Provide a brief set of directions to locate the battlefield site. Utilize
the nearest town, major intersection of state or federal highways, or another
major landmark as a reference in your instructions.
Step 4:
Enter a rating code for the Accessibility rating for this battlefield.
Enter any appropriate comments or details to support the rating code that
you have chosen. Go to page 2 of the
Survey.
Step 5:
Enter a rating code for the Overall Interpretation status for this
battlefield.
Step 6:
Place an X next to any tools listed that are available to assist with the
interpretation of this battlefield. If
there are other tools that are not listed, note these in the Other Comments
section at the end of page 2 of the Survey.
Step 7:
Place an X next to any support groups that are available to assist with
the interpretation of this battlefield. List
the name(s) and address(s) of those groups in the box to the right of the group
listing. Make any additional
comments as necessary in the Other Comments section at the end of page 2 of the
Survey.
Go to page 3 of the Survey.
Step 8:
Enter any additional Comments in the Comments section at the end of page
2.
Step 10:
Place an X in the box next to the description of any public uses that are
permitted at this site. Provide a
description for any Other activity listed.

Please provide additional
information or materials, including any of the following, to assist the BGES in
assessing the opportunities for future interpretation of this battlefield.
