I just finished Harsh'e Confederate Tide Rising and Taken at the Flood. I wanted to read these based partly on the interests BGES' signs at South Mountain generated based upon the statement that SO 191 may not have been as critical as "everyone" said. His treatment of McClellan was interesting. Due to his works I am not compelled to re-read Sears' Landscape Turned Red and Murfin's The Gleam of Bayonets. On a side note it is too bad Harsh has not published his hoped for look at the 1862 Maryland campaign from the Northern point of view.
